About Me
As a sports medicine physician, I offer nonsurgical treatment for a variety of orthopedic complaints, providing alternative options for patient who do not desire or are not candidates for surgical intervention. I specialize in using ultrasound to diagnosis and treat conditions. Specifically, I help children, adolescents, and adults who have bone, joint, and muscular injuries through individualized treatment plans that include exercise therapy, ultrasound-guided interventions, and platelet-rich plasma injections. I also specialize in the diagnosis and management of pediatric sports-related concussion, staying up to date on the most current research and literature.
Born and raised in Southern California, I earned a bachelor of science in neuroscience from UCLA and then received my medical degree, with honors, from George Washington School of 鶹 and Health Sciences, where I was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. I completed my residency training in emergency medicine at Icahn School of 鶹 at Mount Sinai in New York City, where I successfully completed both the global health and sports medicine tracks, receiving the Humanitarian Award for my work on head injury in the Dominican Republic. I then went on to complete a Pediatric and Adult Primary Care Sports 鶹 Fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. My sports coverage experience includes work with high school, NCAA Division I, Division III, and professional athletes.
As a former competitive gymnast, and a member of the former PAC-10 championship gymnastics team at UCLA, I specialize in treating athletes of all ages and caliber. My focus is on keeping my patients active, even through injury: I have a vested interest in the aging athlete who struggles with arthritis and other wear and tear injuries. I strive to partner with my patients, so that we can set specific goals together—whether it’s getting back to sports or to more everyday tasks like playing with the kids or walking the dog—and help them map out a path to achieve those goals.
In addition to my clinical endeavors, I am also proud to be the co-director of the Center for Women’s Sports 鶹. I am also an active researcher in women’s sports medicine and concussion and have presented my research at numerous conferences. I am committed to building strong relationships with patients, based on good education, open lines of communication, and up-to-date treatments and management strategies.
